On June 5, Christ & Sigma, a global "hidden champion" in the laboratory centrifuge sector, announced that its first manufacturing base in China had entered into production. The base, which is located in the CND District of Changzhou, marks another milestone project in the regional life science industry.
The project, nestled within the China-Switzerland Industrial Park in the Binjiang Economic Development Zone, will initially focus on the localized production of Sigma-series lab-used centrifuges using mature German manufacturing processes. In the follow-up stage, leveraging the development trajectory of the domestic market, the base will introduce the mass production of freeze dryers, with products to be supplied to the entire Asia-pacific region.
Founded in 1947, Christ & Sigma group has specialized in the R&D and manufacturing of precision laboratory equipment for 75 years. Its products are widely applied to cutting-edge fields such as bio-medicine, clinical testing, synthetic biology, cell and gene therapy, etc. The company has gained a well-known reputation in the global scientific equipment market. Christ & Sigma Lab Technology (Changzhou) Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group in China, was established in November, 2025.
The operation of the Changzhou base will fill a critical gap in the localized manufacturing of high-end lab equipment in the CND District, and strengthen the supporting ecosystem for the life science industry. In the future, the life science industry in the CND will develop in a more specialized and high-quality direction.
