A cutting-edge technology developed in Changzhou has been successfully included in the 2024 National Catalogue of Green and Low-Carbon Technologies for Public Institutions, highlighting the city’s growing capabilities in green innovation for the public sector.

The “AI-Driven Water Supply Network Leakage Detection and Management System”, developed by Changzhou Changgong Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., was recognized for its outstanding performance in energy efficiency, technological maturity, applicability, and scalability. The system employs artificial intelligence sensors to accurately detect and quantify leakage in water supply networks, offering a sustainable solution that reduces waste and improves operational efficiency.

The selection, organized by China’s National Government Offices Administration, began in May 2024. It focused on identifying advanced green technologies that meet the practical needs of public institutions and support the country’s dual carbon goals. The evaluation process included submissions, documentation reviews, expert assessments, online presentations, public disclosures, and on-site verifications.

Moving forward, the Changzhou Municipal Government Offices Administration will leverage this recognition to promote and apply advanced green technologies more widely. Efforts will focus on guiding public institutions in adopting appropriate solutions, expanding the role of market-based mechanisms, and accelerating energy efficiency upgrades for existing buildings. These initiatives aim to strengthen the demonstration role of public institutions in the green transition and contribute to sustainable economic and social development.
