Recently, the list of 2025 city regeneration pilot projects (third batch) was released. Five projects from Changzhou made the list.
The five selected projects are in different districts, they include:

The Old Lingjiatang Urban Village Renewal Project in Zhonglou District, Changzhou.

The Nandajie Pedestrian Street Property Owner-Led Renewal Project in Zhonglou District, Changzhou.

The Comprehensive Renovation of an Idle Hospital into an Elderly Care Service Center in the downtown area of Changzhou.

The Smart Expansion and Renovation Project of Longhutang Middle School in Xinbei District, Changzhou.

The Comprehensive Renewal Project of the North Railway Station Industry-City Integration Area in Xinbei District, Changzhou.
This batch of projects focuses closely on addressing prominent issues in urban development, prioritizing public welfare needs, and actively exploring innovative policy mechanisms and implementation approaches. Each project, based on thorough preliminary research, has been systematically planned and coordinated, aiming to tackle the key obstacles and challenges in the urban renewal process. Together, they have developed integrated solutions encompassing planning, design, construction, and operation.
As of date, Changzhou has a total of 11 projects recognized as provincial-level urban renewal pilot projects. Going forward, the Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau will continue to strengthen the tracking, management, and guidance of these pilot projects, with their experiences serving as models for replication and promotion in other urban renewal initiatives.
