On February 15, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People's Government officially approved Changzhou’s application for establishing a friendly city relationship with Wyndham, Victoria, Australia.
The City of Wyndham is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the outer south-western suburbs of Melbourne, within the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, between Melbourne and the regional city of Geelong. It has an area of 542 square kilometres. The key industrial precincts are Laverton North and Truganina, and the key industries are manufacturing and logistics. The professional and commercial sector includes Victoria University, CSIRO Food Innovation Centre and the University of Melbourne Veterinary Clinic and Hospital. Wyndham is a designated growth area of Melbourne, currently ranked as the third fastest growing local government area in Victoria. Wyndham has a growing and diverse population and growth has been rapid and forecasts indicate the population will be in excess of 330,000 by 2031.
After Changzhou and Wyndham are officially twinned, the two sides are expected to carry out in-depth exchanges and cooperation in trade, environmental protection, education, culture and tourism.
