The annual “Walk for a Bag of Milk” charity event will return on April 25, with registration opening on April 12. Residents can sign up as individuals or teams via the “Virtuous Changzhou” WeChat account, with all registration fees going toward the purchase of milk for children in need.
Launched in 2014, the event has grown into a signature public welfare initiative in Changzhou. Over the past 12 years, it has attracted more than 210,000 participants and raised over 10 million yuan, providing more than 7 million cartons of milk to over 20,000 underprivileged students.
This year’s event will introduce a new format, taking place simultaneously in three locations—the main urban area of Changzhou, as well as Jintan and Liyang—expanding its reach across the city.
The main urban route will cover 30 kilometers, starting from Changzhou Institute of Technology, passing Cultural Palace, and ending at Global Harbor. In Jintan, participants will follow a 4-kilometer loop starting from Jinshahui Plaza and circling Qianzi Lake Park, while the Liyang route spans 6.5 kilometers, beginning at Fangli Street and passing through Banzhu Village and Housangyuan Village before returning to the starting point.
Marking the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, this year’s event will, for the first time, incorporate educational elements inspired by the historic journey. Multiple themed stops along the main route will combine the charity walk with storytelling on perseverance and shared values, encouraging participants to engage along the way.
