Changzhou's consumer market demonstrated robust performance during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, sustaining its upward growth trajectory. Official data from the Changzhou Commerce Bureau indicates that 54 tracked retail complexes and F&B businesses generated approximately 730 million yuan in total sales by October 8, representing a 3.5% year-on-year increase.
The city maintained stable supply chains throughout the holiday, with the Linjiatao Market processing an average of 12,000 metric tons of daily transactions. This ensured consistent availability and stable pricing for essential goods including vegetables, fruits, grains, and cooking oil.
Changzhou's "Eight Measures to Boost Consumption" proved effective in driving spending across multiple sectors. The initiatives particularly benefited electric vehicle sales, food and beverage services, and online retail, with residents receiving 5 million yuan in restaurant vouchers and 10 million yuan worth of digital yuan cash incentives.
Major shopping districts like Jiangnan Global Harbor and MixC hosted special daily promotions, while iD Park marked its grand opening by introducing 48 brands making their debut in Changzhou. Traditional brands enjoyed strong sales as well, with Ruihetai selling upwards of 550,000 mooncakes during the festive period.
The positive holiday performance underscores Changzhou's resilient consumer market and successful policy implementation, which maintained both supply chain stability and dynamic commercial activity throughout the extended break.
