On the evening of May 23, Hong Kong Express flight UO272 touched down at Changzhou Benniu International Airport, marking the official relaunch of direct flights between Changzhou and Hong Kong. The aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water salute, symbolizing the restoration of this vital air link.
Operated by Cathay Pacific Group’s budget carrier HK Express, the service will run three times weekly on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Airbus A320 aircraft. Flight UO272 departs Hong Kong at 17:45 and arrives in Changzhou at 20:05, while the return flight, UO273, leaves Changzhou at 20:50 and lands in Hong Kong at 23:10, with a flight duration of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes each way.
The relaunch of this route significantly improves travel efficiency between the two cities and strengthens regional connectivity between the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. HK Express, as a short-haul subsidiary of Cathay Pacific, links travelers to over 30 destinations across Asia, further enhancing Changzhou’s integration into international air networks.
This development is expected to facilitate deeper economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Changzhou and Hong Kong while boosting Benniu International Airport’s role in regional development. Aviation authorities highlight the flight’s strategic importance in fostering closer cooperation between eastern and southern China and expanding opportunities for cross-regional business and leisure travel.
