On March 4, Mayor Zhou Wei conducted a special research visit on the development of the future energy storage industry. He stressed the importance of seizing opportunities in this emerging sector, strengthening technological innovation to unlock advanced productive capacity, and fostering closer collaboration to improve the industrial ecosystem. He also called for the expansion of application scenarios and demonstration projects to accelerate the intelligent, green, and integrated development of Changzhou's future energy storage industry.

Mayor Zhou visited several key players in the energy storage sector, including Changzhou Changying Precision Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Guoyue Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Infypower Smart Energy Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Xiangying New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Liyang Zhongke Haina Technology Co., Ltd. During the visits, he gained a detailed understanding of the companies’ industrial layout, product R&D, technological innovation, and market expansion.

He encouraged the companies to seize the strategic opportunities created by the carbon neutrality goals, strengthen their industrial foundations through continuous innovation, and accelerate the large-scale application of new energy storage products such as sodium-ion batteries. By striving to take the lead in the future energy storage sector, he noted, these enterprises can inject stronger momentum into the region's green energy transition and high-quality industrial development.

Mayor Zhou noted that the future energy storage industry is entering a period of rapid growth and significant opportunity. He encouraged enterprises across the industrial chain to stay confident, remain committed to long-term development, and work together to accelerate the sector’s expansion.

He called on companies to strengthen their role as key drivers of innovation and build core technological advantages. By focusing on major bottlenecks in the energy storage industry, they should intensify efforts to achieve breakthroughs in critical technologies and actively translate research results into practical applications, so as to form distinctive competitive strengths as soon as possible. The aim, he said, is to cultivate more enterprises that are specialized, sophisticated, and innovation-driven in their respective niches, and to foster industry leaders that can take the lead in future energy storage.

Zhou also called for deeper collaboration to create stronger synergy among government, enterprises, and research institutions. He proposed organizing more industry matchmaking events and salons to promote closer coordination between upstream and downstream players across the industrial chain.

He also emphasized the need to further expand the reach and influence of institutions such as the Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center and the Tianmu Lake Institute of Advanced Energy Storage Technologies, accelerating the generation, application, and commercialization of their research outcome. Through stronger collaboration and clustered development, enterprises along the industrial chain can enhance the added value of their products and strengthen their overall competitiveness.
