On January 7, it was learned from the Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism that the following sites have been designated as National 3A-Level tourist attractions: Liyang Museum, Zijing Park, Dongpo Park, Jingchuan Park, the Zhonglou Xinmeng River Ecotourism Area, and the Weidun Heritage Site Park. The Shunshan Cultural Tourism · Jizi Garden Scenic Area has been included on Changzhou’s preparatory list for 3A-Level scenic area designation.
With these additions, the total number of nationally graded tourist attractions in the city has increased to 44, including three 5A-Level and eleven 4A-Level sites.
The six newly designated 3A-Level tourist attractions are diverse in type and distinctive in character. Zijing Park, themed around Chinese roses, offers ever-changing scenery across the four seasons and serves as a tranquil and appealing green oasis for urban leisure. Weidun Heritage Site Park integrates archaeological heritage with ecological landscapes, making it a popular “back garden” cherished by local residents. Relying on its water conservancy landscape, the Zhonglou Xinmeng River Ecotourism Area has been developed into an ecological corridor that brings together rural scenery, sports and leisure activities, and study-tour experiences.
Inspired by the design concept of the Jiaowei qin (a type of ancient Chinese zither), Liyang Museum employs modern technologies to present Liyang’s historical development from ancient times to the present, combining educational value with strong visual appeal. Dongpo Park and Jingchuan Park delve deeply into historical and cultural resources, creating classical garden spaces rich in traditional charm.
Meanwhile, the Shunshan Cultural Tourism · Jizi Garden Scenic Area, which has been included on the preparatory list for 3A-level designation, centers on Jizi culture and integrates mountain-and-water landscapes with rural industries, forming a comprehensive tourist destination that combines cultural experiences, family-oriented activities, and study-tour programs.
