Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released the shortlist for the 2025 Jiangsu Zero-Carbon (Near-Zero-Carbon) Factory Program. Star Charge Co., Ltd. of Changzhou was selected for the zero-carbon factory list, while three local companies—Jiangsu Luokai Mechanical & Electrical Co.,Ltd., Changzhou Bori Power Automation Equipment Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Huapeng Intelligent Instrument Technology Co., Ltd.—were included in the near-zero-carbon factory list. With a total of four enterprises selected, Changzhou ranks second in the province.

As a bellwether for green transformation in the industrial sector, zero-carbon (near-zero-carbon) factories refer to industrial production units that achieve net-zero—or near net-zero—greenhouse gas emissions through technological optimization and managerial innovation.

The four companies shortlisted this year have demonstrated remarkable strengths in zero-carbon (near-zero-carbon) technological innovation and practical application, and stand as exemplary representatives of Changzhou's efforts to build a strong pipeline of zero-carbon factories.

Focusing on emission reduction throughout the production process, Luokai Mechanical & Electrical Co.,Ltd. has advanced low-carbon transformation across the entire chain—from optimizing product processes and adopting green design, to introducing energy-saving equipment and building intelligent production lines, and further to improving building energy efficiency. The company has also extended these practices to upstream and downstream partners in the industrial chain, promoting its successful experience more broadly.

In its efforts to respond to industry transformation through innovation, Changzhou Bori Power Automation Equipment has deeply integrated digital transformation with green development, actively advancing a dual pathway of "emission reduction + offsetting." The rooftop and carport photovoltaic panels on its campus generate roughly 25,000 kWh of electricity per day. Through coordinated microgrid management, the company achieves 100% on-site consumption of the solar power generated, which now accounts for more than 31% of its total electricity use.
