On the afternoon of July 2, the “Wujin Welcomes German Enterprises 2025” event was held in the Wujin National Hi-Tech Industrial Zone (WIZ), with nearly 20 senior executives from German companies visiting Changzhou. Vice Mayor Pan Dongling met with Reinhold von Ungern-Sternberg, director of international markets at the German Federal Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BVMW).
During the event, WIZ and BVMW China signed a strategic cooperation agreement to strengthen collaboration in sectors including new energy vehicles, core automotive components, intelligent manufacturing, new energy, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.
Founded in 1975, BVMW is one of the largest and most internationalized business associations in Germany and Europe. It represents 1.25 million member enterprises across the EU, including 900,000 German SMEs and over 300 German “hidden champion” companies.
Since the first German enterprise, Karl Mayer, established operations in Wujin in 1995, the zone has attracted leading German firms such as the Volkswagen Group, Bosch Group, SICK Sensors, Siemens, and MAN. Ongoing investment from companies like Karl Mayer, Stabilus, Norma Group, and Continental has helped build a comprehensive cooperation network spanning industrial development, science and education, cultural tourism, and public welfare.
