On 13 September, the 2025 International New Energy Expo opened in Changzhou, Jiangsu, drawing over 400 leaders, investors and experts from leading global companies in the new energy sector. The event fostered dialogue on the future path of new energy and strategies for green, low-carbon transformation.

Presence at the opening included Hu Guangjie (Member of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Standing Committee and head of the United Front Department), and Shi Mingde, former Chinese Ambassador to Germany and President of the China-Germany Friendship Association. Changzhou Party Secretary Wang Jianfeng and former Chief Economist at Ministry of Industry and Information Technology  Xu Kemin delivered keynote addresses, while Vice Party Secretary and Mayor Zhou Wei gave a promotional pitch on Changzhou’s investment environment.

This year’s expo theme, “New Energy · New Power · New Changzhou,” broke new ground with a fusion format linking the expo with the  Jiangsu City Football League tournament. The cross-platform “Energy Expo + Football Tournament” concept aimed to bring the technology from factory floors into streets and daily life, underscoring the message: “New energy makes life better.” The expo sought to integrate cutting-edge industrial achievements into the daily lives of citizens.

A total of 33 projects were signed at the event. These included 17 industrial projects—such as intelligent manufacturing for new energy vehicle components and high-performance nickel-based materials—alongside eight sci-tech innovation projects and eight talent-focused projects, with a combined investment of over RMB 33 billion.
