On April 27, Changzhou held the "Dialogue with Australia – Changzhou & Australia: Building a Shared Future" event to further enhance practical cooperation in economic and trade fields between Changzhou and Australia. The event was attended and addressed by John Williams, Consul-General of Australia in Shanghai; Beecher Ashley-Brown, Board Member and Chair of the HR Committee at AustCham Shanghai; and Pan Dongling, Vice Mayor of Changzhou.
Currently, Changzhou is advancing its opening-up at a higher level and with greater intensity, striving to become a preferred destination for foreign investment and a new hub for industrial cooperation. The Dialogue with Australia event has served as a cooperation platform for businesses from both sides in sectors such as new energy, smart manufacturing, and trade. Both parties expressed their commitment to using this dialogue as a new opportunity to forge closer ties, focusing on key areas including new energy, smart manufacturing, commerce and logistics, and cross-border investment, while deepening technological innovation, promoting industrial synergy, and jointly exploring global markets.
During the event, Changzhou introduced its investment environment to Australian business representatives. John Madew, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner and Deputy Consul-General of Australia in Shanghai, delivered a keynote speech on investment opportunities. Entrepreneurs from both sides engaged in interactive exchanges.
During their stay in Changzhou, the delegation visited Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd. and Li Auto's Changzhou Base for on-site observation and discussions.
