Forty-five scholars from two institutions in Changzhou Science and Education Town have been named to the prestigious 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists List, jointly released by Stanford University and Elsevier. This authoritative ranking identifies the world’s most influential researchers based on citation metrics across diverse scientific fields.
Changzhou University distinguished itself with 14 scholars listed in the "Career-Long Impact" ranking (reflecting lifetime academic achievements) and 41 scholars in the "Single-Year Impact" ranking (highlighting 2024 contributions). Changzhou Vocational Institute of Textile and Garment also secured recognition, with one scholar appearing in the single-year list.
The honored researchers specialize in cutting-edge disciplines, including biotechnology, advanced materials, energy technology, chemistry, and engineering—showcasing Changzhou Science and Education Town’s robust research output and success in nurturing elite scientific talent.
The ranking evaluates nearly seven million scientists globally, selecting the top 2% across 22 major disciplines and 174 subfields. It employs dual metrics: career-long impact (cumulative contributions) and single-year impact (recent academic performance).
