Recently, the list of recipients for the 19th Jiangsu Youth Science and Technology Award was announced. A total of 60 sci-tech young professionals across the province were recognized, with three from Changzhou making the list: Wu Fan, Director of the Scientist Studio at Yangtze River Delta Physics Research Center Co., Ltd.; Xu Zhicheng, General Manager of Abscience (Changzhou) Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd.; and Zhou Ziyao, Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Materials and Engineering, Changzhou University. Xu Zhicheng was also honored with the title of "Jiangsu Youth Star in Science and Technology."
The Jiangsu Youth Science and Technology Award is presented to young scientific and technological professionals across Jiangsu province. Award recipients are required to have outstanding accomplishments in areas such as basic and applied research in the natural sciences, engineering and technological applications, as well as the promotion and dissemination of science and technology.
In recent years, Changzhou has intensified efforts to support and promote young scientific and technological talent, with tangible progress achieved. The Changzhou Young Sci-tech Talent Support Program selected 50 professionals in 2025, representing a 66% increase compared with 2024. In addition, the Sailing Initiative for Young Science and Technology Talent has established a comprehensive platform for researchers to grow, encompassing functions from intellectual exchange, capacity building, to commercialization of research outcome, and resource matchmaking.
