The 2026 Jiangsu Provincial Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention and Control Skills Competition concluded on August 13, with 78 public health professionals from all 13 prefecture-level cities across the province taking part. The Changzhou team earned an Outstanding Team Award for its strong performance.
The competition covered TB prevention and control regulations and standards, professional knowledge and practical skills, with four areas of assessment: basic theory, prevention and control, laboratory testing, and clinical diagnosis and treatment. Participants competed in both individual and team events, with written examinations and hands-on assessments used to evaluate their professional knowledge, technical skills and ability to respond to emergencies.
Sun Lina of the Changzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention stood out in the Prevention and Control category, winning the Theoretical Knowledge Award, Practical Skills Award and Individual First Prize. She was also named a Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Professional in Tuberculosis Prevention and Control. Her achievements reflect Changzhou’s continued efforts to strengthen standardized TB prevention and control and develop a highly skilled professional workforce.
The competition provided an opportunity to assess the capabilities of TB prevention and control professionals across the province and promote the development of professional teams. Changzhou will build on the experience gained from the competition by strengthening skills training and professional development, improving its TB prevention and control services, and further strengthening the city’s public health system.
