In the first four months of this year,  Changzhou's motorcycle exports reached 1.31 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 42.3%. During the same period, exports of electric vehicles, lithium batteries and transformers also posted robust growth. "Made in Changzhou" products, featuring smart and green characteristics, are emerging as a key driver of the city's foreign trade growth.

On May 20, staff at Niu Technologies, were conducting the final commissioning work on a batch of smart e-motorcycles bound for Europe. The order had 4,028 vehicles in total. "The European market has a strong demand for green mobility solutions, which has created tremendous opportunities for us." said Li Yan, CEO of Niu Technologies. Leveraging high performance and intelligent mobility technologies, the company has entered the overseas high-end market. " In the first quarter, our sales volume ranked first in Germany and Italy, marking a major leap in product competitiveness - from gaining market access to securing strong pricing power in the high-end market.”  

Such transition has been underpinned by the company's continued investment in technological innovation. In 2026, Niu Technologies released the world's first AI e-motor system, integrating voice assistant, millimeter-wave radar and L2 smart driving, which has significantly improved the value added of finished vehicles.

Compared with traditional fuel-powered scooters, high-performance e-scooters have become the preferred choice of more and more international customers. Looking ahead, Niu Technologies plans to further expand the global presence of its electric motorcycles, scooters, and other products across markets in Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
