Changzhou has achieved notable success in the recently announced 2025 "Science Popularization Jiangsu" program, with four of its high-quality projects securing funding from the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology. As a key provincial initiative supporting specialized science education, the program prioritizes facilities demonstrating distinctive regional characteristics and technological innovation.
Among the selected projects, Changzhou's Jintan district has implemented a Senior University of Science and Technology providing community-based courses ranging from smart device operation to lectures celebrating mathematician Hua Luogeng's legacy, complemented by volunteer teams delivering practical science education across neighborhoods.
Similarly, Liyang district has partnered with Chongqing University's local research institute to offer blended learning programs helping elderly residents adapt to modern technology through courses on digital skills and health technologies.
The city is also strengthening youth science engagement through two major initiatives. A distinguished lecture series led by Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Liu Hanlong will bring quantum physics and artificial intelligence experts to schools and industrial parks, coupled with science camps and customized educational materials reaching 2,000 participants annually.
Additionally, Changzhou has designed an immersive "Smart Tour of Dragon City" program integrating the region's strengths in advanced manufacturing and new energy with cultural heritage to stimulate teenage interest in scientific innovation through hands-on learning experiences.
