Two vocational colleges in Changzhou have been selected as pilot institutions for industry-education integration by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Talent Exchange Centre.
The announcement confirmed that Changzhou Vocational Institute of Engineering and Changzhou Vocational Institute of Information Technology are among the latest entrants to the national scheme.
At Changzhou Vocational Institute of Engineering, the Pharmaceutical Quality and Safety programme—recognized in 2024 as a provincial “double high-level” speciality—draws on provincial-level bio-manufacturing and testing-industry alliances. The school has pioneered joint enrolment with enterprises, co-designed training schemes and curricula, and now links its Big Data Technology programme closely to market demand through initiatives such as “modern apprenticeship classes,” customized “order-based classes,” and on-site engineer training projects.
Meanwhile, Changzhou Vocational Institute of Information Technology’s Mechatronics Technology programme focuses on the city’s fast-expanding smart manufacturing sector. Centred on a “dual-track model” of joint training with industry, it strengthens students’ practical capabilities by co-building training bases, introducing real-life corporate projects, and integrating professional skills certification. The college has also forged long-term partnerships with regional high-end equipment manufacturers, feeding a steady stream of highly skilled graduates into the industrial chain.
Officials said the designation highlights both colleges’ progress in deepening cooperation between education and industry and enhancing the quality of technical training. It also lays the foundation for building stronger cooperation platforms, shaping a new model for integration, and driving the high-quality development of vocational programmes.
