Zhonglou district added 3,393 new business entities in the first quarter of 2026, including 1,183 newly established enterprises and 2,210 self-employed businesses.

As of March 2026, the district had a total of 112,451 registered market entities, comprising 41,490 enterprises with a combined registered capital of 241.3 billion yuan, and 70,961 individual businesses with registered capital totaling 7.69 billion yuan.

The fastest growth in new enterprises was seen in sectors including residential services, repair and other services, culture, sports and entertainment, as well as water conservancy, environment and public facilities management.

Meanwhile, transportation and warehousing, accommodation and catering, and scientific research and technical services also recorded relatively rapid growth compared with the same period last year.
