On the afternoon of June 5, the signing ceremony for the "FEIAP–NR Electric Engineering Award" was held in the Jiangsu Changzhou Economic Development Zone. Among those present were Shen Guorong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Zhao Jianguo, vice chairperson of the Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology; and Chen Zhiliang, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee.

The award was set up jointly by Changzhou-born academician Shen Guorong and the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP). It marks Jiangsu’s first engineering award co-founded by an international science and technology organization and a leading local enterprise. It is also the province’s first international honor platform dedicated specifically to frontline engineers and researchers, featuring four categories: Outstanding Young Engineer, Innovation in Engineering Education, Innovation in Engineering Technology, and Outstanding Female Engineer.

Currently, Changzhou is driving forward its vision of becoming an international hub of smart manufacturing and an innovation powerhouse in the Yangtze River Delta, with major efforts going into building the "10+28" modern industrial system and the "6+X" future-oriented industrial system. The Changzhou Economic Development Zone, as the city’s core cluster for new-type power equipment, is home to 60 companies in the sector, 45 of which are above the designated size. With the newly established award serving as a bridge, the zone aims to further boost Changzhou’s advanced manufacturing clusters, elevate its regional strategic standing, and attract more high-caliber engineering talent from around the world to settle and thrive in Changzhou.
