During the eight-day Chinese New Year holiday, Changzhou's retail and hospitality sectors saw continued success, driven by strong demand across key consumer areas such as food, accommodation, transport, tourism, shopping, and entertainment. According to statistics from the city's Commerce Bureau, the 56 major retail, catering, and commercial complexes under monitoring in Changzhou achieved sales of 680 million yuan over the holiday period, reflecting a 7.1% increase compared to the previous year.

In addition to the robust sales, the city organized a range of "trade-in" events, offering various incentives for consumers to exchange old products for new ones. These initiatives were particularly prominent in the home appliance sector, where retailers offered discounts, price protection, compensation for price differences, and services such as up to 180 days of "exchange instead of repair." From January 1 to February 2, approximately 29.58 million yuan in subsidies were issued for old appliance trade-ins, generating about 189.85 million yuan in consumer spending.
