On November 10, Vice Mayor Pan Dongling met with Mr. Aravind Yarragadda, Senior Vice President of Baker Hughes, for in-depth discussions on strengthening government–enterprise cooperation and advancing the implementation of new projects.

Founded in 1907 in the United States, Baker Hughes is a global energy-technology leader whose core businesses span two major segments: Oilfield Services & Equipment and Industrial & Energy Technology, with operations in more than 120 countries.

In 2020, the company acquired GE Sensing & Inspection Technologies (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. located in the Wujin National Hi-Tech District and subsequently established Baker Hughes Sensing & Inspection (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. The Changzhou entity recorded over RMB 300 million in revenue in 2024.

This year, Baker Hughes has further expanded its presence in China by bringing in its world-class Cordant vibration monitoring system project and establishing a new production line for industrial vibration monitoring equipment at its Changzhou plant. The brand holds 40% of the domestic market in its segment, with products capable of precisely measuring parameters such as vibration, displacement, rotational speed, pressure, torque, and energy. Previously, the production line was located at the company's factory in Nevada, USA.

The new project will be rolled out in phases. By the end of this year, the company will gradually increase investment and expand its plant. Once fully operational, the line will have an annual capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 sets, serving the entire Asia-Pacific region, with an expected annual output value of about USD 100 million.
