On the afternoon of April 11, Changzhou hosted an AI-Powered Device Launch Event, where 27 AI-powered devices made their debut.

Beyond a conventional product launch, the event featured keynote speeches and roadshows. It not only highlighted Changzhou’s latest achievements in AI-powered devices, but also underscored the city’s broader strategy to advance the sector—focusing on real-world applications, driving technological innovation and industrial upgrading, and encouraging companies to better connect with users through new product and market-oriented approaches.

Innovation redefines possibilities

In the age of artificial intelligence, innovation in AI-powered products is accelerating rapidly, with both global tech giants and Chinese companies rolling out new solutions at pace.

The 27 products, developed by 20 Changzhou-based companies, span both consumer and industrial applications. They include AI glasses, AI cameras, AI-powered electric vehicles, smart home systems, and other emerging devices, covering areas such as smart mobility, intelligent toys and smart home living.

Rather than simply showcasing what individual products can do, the event demonstrated how AI can reshape entire usage scenarios, offering a glimpse into how everyday experiences may be transformed.

Li Auto’s Livis AI glasses, designed for younger users, presented a “tech-enabled lifestyle” scenario. Users can remotely prepare their vehicle before heading out, open the trunk with a voice command, record vlogs hands-free, and even generate text and images for social media sharing.

Poputar Changzhou introduced its PopuPiano smart instrument, creating a “home entertainment” scenario. With a piano-style interface connected via Bluetooth to a mobile app, even beginners can quickly learn to play. Built-in composition features also allow users to generate original music with just a few taps.

Ninebot showcased its intelligent electric vehicles, which integrate AI into navigation and driving experience. By analyzing real-time road conditions, the vehicle can assist in route planning and driving decisions, making urban mobility more convenient and engaging.

Aifeiweier presented its X-WING vertical take-off drone, whose formation flight performance highlighted cutting-edge drone capabilities. Meanwhile, an AI-powered diagnostic device demonstrated the ability to monitor indicators such as blood pressure, blood lipids and blood glucose.

Labpano showcased its advanced imaging technologies, including professional panoramic cameras, 3D digital twin cameras, in-vehicle 360-degree vision systems, and solutions for panoramic live streaming and LiDAR scanning, delivering highly immersive user experiences.

The event also featured unexpected innovations, such as an AI-powered table tennis training robot. Equipped with adaptive algorithms, it can adjust speed, spin and placement based on the user’s skill level. Players can even design and share customized training programs via a mobile app.

Branding opens new pathways

Beyond showcasing future-ready applications, the event also highlighted a shift in how Changzhou’s AI device manufacturers approach branding and market engagement. Companies are moving away from traditional, one-way communication—simply telling users what products they offer—toward a more user-centric approach that emphasizes interaction and feedback.

In the AI era, brand narratives are being reshaped. AI is no longer just a supporting tool, but is increasingly becoming a core driver in content creation, recommendation and user engagement.

Closer collaboration between humans and AI is making technology more intuitive and interactions more responsive. Many companies in Changzhou are actively exploring new communication channels, particularly through social media platforms. For instance, Labpano plans to launch its latest panoramic cameras on major online platforms, while some firms have not only established official accounts but also encouraged executives to engage directly with users.

Rather than chasing traffic, these efforts aim to build meaningful connections with users—allowing feedback to flow more directly into product development and helping companies continuously refine user experience.

Strategic vision for the future

If the launch event offered a glimpse into how AI-powered devices may shape future lifestyles, the question then turns to how Changzhou plans to seize opportunities in this emerging sector.

Policy support has emerged as a key driver. In March this year, Changzhou released a draft of its three-year action plan (2026–2028) to boost the AI-powered device sector, drawing widespread attention.

The plan has now been officially adopted. It outlines the city’s ambition to build itself into an international hub of smart manufacturing and an innovation powerhouse in the Yangtze River Delta, with a dual focus on consumer and industrial applications.

By 2028, Changzhou aims to grow the AI-powered device sector to over 280 billion yuan in total output, develop more than 100 innovative AI products, and establish over 10 benchmark application scenarios with strong demonstration effects.

In terms of key development areas, consumer-focused devices will prioritize five segments: smart mobility, smart home, wearables, intelligent toys, and smart phones and computers. On the industrial side, efforts will focus on embodied intelligence, intelligent industrial control, and smart healthcare.

The plan also emphasizes an integrated development pathway—from strengthening core components and advancing complete devices, to expanding real-world applications and building a robust ecosystem—while deepening the integration of AI with technologies such as digital twins.
