Recently, the 2026 Jiangsu Provincial Vocational Skills Competition for Inspection and Testing has been wrapped up in Nanjing. A team of seven professional backbone staff members from Changzhou participated in the competition and won the second-place team award. Among the team members, Yuan Hefang from the Changzhou Food, Drug and Fiber Quality Supervision and Inspection Center won the individual first prize in the heavy metal detection in food category, and Hu Wenyi from SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. won the individual third prize in the down feather content detection category.
The competition was jointly organized by the Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, the Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League, and the Provincial Women's Federation. A total of three inspection and testing categories were established: heavy metals in food, cotton hand‑stapling length, and down feather content.
The event adheres to the principle of promoting learning, practice, and capacity‑building through competition. On the one hand, it guides industry practitioners to deepen their professional expertise and refine their hands‑on skills. On the other hand, it accelerates the development of a high-skilled workforce, thus improving the support system for inspection and testing, and injecting strong momentum into the high‑quality development of this industry.
