During the Labour Day holiday, the Changzhou consumer market remained stable operation with ample supply provided for residents. The market vitality continued to strengthen as there was an unleash of consumption needs. According to statistics from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, from May 1 to May 5, 56 trade, commercial, retail and catering entities surveyed by the Municipal Bureau reached a sales revenue of 468 million yuan, up 5% compared with the same period last year.
During the five-day holiday, the Changzhou government rolled out targeted trade-in policies for cars, home appliances, and digital devices, as well as smart product expansion initiatives. Through efficient subsidy programs, the city harnessed policy-driven benefits to stimulate consumer spending potential.
From May 1 to May 4, 3.09 million yuan in subsidies were issued for vehicle scrapping and replacement upgrades, driving 48.49 million yuan in sales. For new vehicle purchases without trade-in, 1.26 million yuan in subsidies were distributed, generating 51.75 million yuan in sales. Under the trade-in program for home appliances and digital electronics, 9.25 million yuan in subsidies were granted, boosting sales by 68.42 million yuan. Concurrently, 300,000 yuan in digital yuan red envelopes and 1 million yuan in consumer vouchers were distributed, along with a lottery draw for purchase invoices. The policy-driven leverage effect has been significant.
