On October 28, the world's first 220 kg-class explosion-proof six-axis industrial robot for mining was officially unveiled at the 21st China International Coal Mining Technology Exchange and Equipment Exhibition.
Jointly developed by China Coal Technology and Engineering Group (CCTEG) Changzhou Research Institute, Inovance Technology, and its subsidiary Zhiding Technology, the product's core components have obtained mine explosion-proof and coal safety certifications. It is capable of replacing manual labor in hazardous tasks such as shotcrete spraying, 3D airtight wall printing, and coal gangue sorting under harsh conditions of high humidity, heavy dust, and gas presence.
This marks the first large-scale application of robots replacing humans in high-risk coal mining operations, hailed as a milestone in intelligent underground operations.
According to Chen Xiaojing, Deputy General Manager of the CCTEG Changzhou Research Institute, this breakthrough builds upon the institute's deep expertise in explosion-proof technology and leverages Inovance's more than 20 years of experience in servo motors and its full-stack R&D platform covering optics, mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
For the first time, the robotic arm achieves the combination of heavy load capacity, explosion-proof performance, and high precision in underground applications. It enables machines to take on the most dangerous tasks, allowing people to return to more creative roles, and provides a replicable and scalable engineering model for the intelligent transformation of the coal industry and beyond.
