Changzhou has been selected for its first national-level intelligent manufacturing standards application pilot project, marking a significant milestone in the city’s industrial transformation. The announcement came as the Standardization Administration of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly released the second batch of national pilot projects for the application of intelligent manufacturing standards. Of the 76 projects selected nationwide, the project submitted by CRRC Qishuyan Institute Co., Ltd.—entitled “Standard Application Pilot for Intelligent Factory Construction in Rail Transit Equipment”—stood out as the only entry from the rail transit equipment sector.
The CRRC Qishuyan Institute, a subsidiary of China’s leading rolling stock manufacturer CRRC, has taken a proactive approach to integrating standardisation, digitisation, and intelligentisation in its intelligent factory initiative. The project has focused on building an integrated technical platform that unites 3D product design with process manufacturing, while also developing a unified set of standards for collaborative R&D. The result is a fully digitalised production process that significantly reduces lifecycle costs and enhances R&D and manufacturing efficiency.
This pioneering effort offers a replicable model for other enterprises in the rail transit equipment industry, promoting standardised, environmentally sustainable, and highly efficient industrial practices.
