On January 13, the Changzhou Municipal Data Bureau announced that in the previous year, Changzhou's market entities demonstrated solid development momentum, with steady growth in total numbers and continued structural optimization. As of the end of December 2025, the total number of registered market entities in the city reached 887,500, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7%.
According to statistics, in 2025 the city recorded 308,100 active enterprises, up 4.9% year on year, and 576,800 individual businesses, up 1.5%. The growth rate of enterprises was significantly higher than the overall growth rate of market entities, indicating ongoing optimization of Changzhou's industrial structure. This reflects a shift in market entities from "quantitative expansion" to "qualitative improvement," with steadily rising levels of specialization and scale in entrepreneurship and innovation across the city.
In 2025, a total of 90,200 new market entities were newly registered across the city, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, the fastest growth rate among Class I cities in the province. Of these, 31,400 were newly established enterprises, up 4.6% year on year, while 58,800 were newly registered individual businesses, up 1.7%.
The growth rate of newly established enterprises exceeded the overall growth rate of newly registered market entities, indicating continuous improvement in the city's market access environment. This trend reflects steadily rising confidence and willingness among enterprises to invest and start businesses in Changzhou.
