The Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security recently announced that the city’s third-generation social security card, the Jiangsu (Changzhou) All-Purpose Card, is now compatible with Hong Kong’s metro system via the "China T-union" payment network.
As Hong Kong Metro fully supports T-union, starting March 22, 2025, cardholders can bypass currency exchange or temporary tickets. To enter, tap the card on T-union-compatible turnstiles (labeled with the logo) at any station—including major lines like the Island Line and Tsuen Wan Line. Fares in HKD are automatically converted to CNY at real-time rates upon exit, ensuring hassle-free travel.
Top-up methods
Offline: Visit Changzhou Citizen Card service centers or use automatic kiosks.
Online: Via the "Changzhou Travel" app (select NFC Top-up, hold the card to the phone’s back, confirm amount, and wait for "Top-up Successful").
Note: Cards must maintain a minimum balance of 50 yuan to cover potential Hong Kong Metro fares. Riders with insufficient funds will be denied entry at turnstiles.
Beyond Hong Kong, the card covers transport in 336 cities (e.g., Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan) and 1,700 counties nationwide, actualizing "one card, nationwide access."
