Statistics from the Changzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce show that from February 15 to 23, sales at 56 major commercial complexes and retail and catering businesses monitored by the city totaled 790 million yuan, up 5.5 percent year on year.
During the nine-day Chinese New Year holiday, Changzhou continued its consumer trade-in programs for automobiles, home appliances and digital products, alongside national subsidy schemes. The city also introduced subsidies for individual purchases of new vehicles and conducted on-site consumer research. Authorities stepped up publicity through coordinated media campaigns, publishing a comprehensive subsidy application guide and distributing policy handbooks to improve public awareness.
From February 15 to 22, subsidies for vehicle scrappage and replacement totaled 970,000 yuan, driving 15.24 million yuan in sales. Subsidies for home appliance and digital product trade-ins reached 8.87 million yuan, generating 71.07 million yuan in sales.
The city issued more than 5 million yuan in dining vouchers and launched promotional meal packages, including the “Changbao Trio” and the “666 Series,” as part of efforts to create an integrated Spring Festival consumption experience spanning dining, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping and entertainment.
