The Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industry Park (SGIP) in Jintan district has further strengthened its appeal to enterprises from German-speaking regions after Angewandte System Technik GmbH (AST) and MPS Bauplanung GmbH (MPS) formally established their projects there last month, bringing the total number of German-language region companies in the park to 82.

Established in 1926, AST is a high-tech company specializing in force measurement technology and sensor systems. Its product portfolio includes precision force sensors, load cells, electronics components, and complete force measurement solutions widely used in industrial measurement and railway technology applications. To further expand in the Chinese market, the company plans to establish a research, development, sales and after-sales support facility in Jintan focused on micogrid-related technologies and direct current (DC) power metering products.

MPS, founded in 1984 and headquartered in Stuttgart, is part of the MPS ARCHONIC Group, a global provider of consulting, construction planning, architecture and project management services for industrial and built environments. With offices in Germany, China and India and projects in more than 40 countries, MPS supports clients across the entire project lifecycle—from site selection and architectural design to project delivery and operations consulting. In October, MPS completed its formal signing in Stuttgart to launch its project in SGIP. It will set up an independent subsidiary in Jintan to provide services for companies within the park and offer comprehensive support for Chinese firms planning overseas investments.

Since its opening in 2020, the SGIP has focused on attracting leading manufacturing enterprises and “hidden champion” companies. Through targeted investment attraction aligned with industrial chains, the park has increasingly become a cluster for enterprises from German-speaking regions. To date, 82 such companies have been introduced, with approximately 60 percent recognized as hidden champions in their respective fields.
