On February 5, a signing ceremony was held for a new 3D metrology systems project by Munich-based cyberTECHNOLOGIES GmbH, with total investment exceeding RMB 100 million. The project marks the company’s first manufacturing presence in China and its initial deployment in the Chinese semiconductor ecosystem.

Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, cyberTECHNOLOGIES is a global supplier of high-resolution non-contact optical metrology systems. The company specializes in advanced 3D surface metrology and inspection solutions that combine precision-engineered hardware with intelligent software for high-accuracy measurement across wafer, packaging and advanced semiconductor processes. Its systems are applied in a wide range of industries, including semiconductors, optical components, automotive parts, and medical devices, and are widely used for precision measurement and quality control.

The cyberTECHNOLOGIES project will focus on localized research and development, production and sales of semiconductor 3D metrology systems, and will serve markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Once fully operational, the project is expected to achieve annual sales exceeding EUR 15 million, injecting new momentum into the region’s semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Leveraging the company’s expertise in optics, sensor technologies and advanced algorithms, the project will provide world-class metrology and inspection solutions to related enterprises in the local industrial chain. It is also expected to attract top talent in precision inspection, automation control and software development, further supporting the region’s efforts to build a high-end talent ecosystem.

In recent years, Changzhou National Hi-Tech District has strategically developed next-generation information technology industries centered on semiconductors and sensors, while continuously attracting quality foreign investment. The district has recently introduced a number of internationally competitive “hidden champion” enterprises from Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, reflecting strong confidence in the district’s industrial environment, infrastructure and government services.
