On January 29, Changzhou Songjianhu Senior High School was officially approved as a Cambridge English Qualifications test centre. Going forward, the school will be able to administer the full range of Cambridge English Main Suite examinations (MSE), covering five proficiency levels from A2 Key (formerly KET), typically taken by students at junior secondary level, to C2 Proficiency (formerly CPE), which is near native-speaker proficiency.
Cambridge English Qualifications are widely recognized globally, with higher-level certificates accepted by many overseas universities for admissions purposes.
Li Xin, executive principal of the school’s International Division, said the establishment of the test centre would help align the school’s English teaching with international assessment standards and enhance students’ practical language skills. Building on this opportunity, the school will work with partner institutions to carry out teacher training and teaching seminars, integrate Cambridge English assessment standards into daily classroom instruction, and plans to launch non-profit workshops for parents to help local families better understand international education.
In recent years, the International Division of Songjianhu Senior High School has achieved strong academic results. Among its first cohort of AP and A-Level graduates, 90% received offers from universities ranked within the global top 50 in the QS World University Rankings. The designation of the Cambridge English Qualifications test centre further strengthens the school’s international education framework.
