On December 3^rd, it was learned from Changzhou CSR Qishuyan Locomotive & Rolling Stock Technology Research Institute that the EMU with a maximum speed of 380 km/h loaded with alpine gearbox drive system has been safely running between Harbin and Dalian up to 50,000 kilometers. This is China's first EMU equipped with independently developed gearbox drive, marking independent R&D of core technology of high-speed locomotive.

Harbin-Dalian high-speed railway is the world's first high-speed rail operated in the alpine region. To cope with the harsh environment, CSR Qishuyan Locomotive & Rolling Stock Technology Research Institute specifically designed the alpine EMU gearbox with optimized gearbox, bearing, lubrication, seal, etc.
