Recently, with the successful completion of the 100th Fuxing N5C diesel locomotive at CRRC Qishuyan Locomotive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CRRC Qishuyan), the model has officially entered a new phase of mass production. This milestone not only highlights CRRC Qishuyan’s strong manufacturing capabilities but also injects new green momentum into the high-quality development of "Changzhou Intelligent Manufacturing."

As a new-generation mainline diesel locomotive independently developed by China, the Fuxing N5C features an integrated design that emphasizes standardization, platform-based development, and modularity. Compared with traditional DC diesel locomotives, this model significantly enhances the single-unit traction capacity and improves operational efficiency, while greatly reducing fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. It combines the advantages of intelligent connectivity with energy efficiency and environmental protection.

The successful development of this locomotive model has not only further established and refined China's independent technological platform for 4,400-horsepower mainline diesel locomotives, filling a gap in the domestic field, but has also earned high recognition from the industry due to its remarkable technological breakthroughs. It has been selected as a Class A achievement in the 2025 Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Achievements Database of the National Railway Administration and has received the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award from the China Railway Society.

By January of this year, the cumulative operating mileage of the Fuxing N5C locomotive had exceeded 6.25 million kilometers. It is currently undertaking freight traction tasks for the Taiyuan and Shanghai bureaus of China State Railway Group, as well as in non-railway markets such as Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces.

The journey from "0" to "100" is not only a new milestone in the mass production of the Fuxing N5C locomotive, but also marks a new starting point for Changzhou's rail transportation equipment manufacturing industry as it embarks on the "15th Five-Year Plan" (2026-2030). As one of the leading industries in eastern Changzhou, this sector is driven by flagship enterprises like CRRC Qishuyan and has gathered numerous supporting companies, achieving a nearly complete industrial chain.
