The 2026 AI Storage Industry (Changzhou) Development Conference was held at the West Taihu Lake Science and Technology Industrial Park on June 12. Under the theme "Storing the Future," the conference brought together industry leaders and resources to help build a competitive AI storage cluster. Among the attendees were Wang Danzhong, second-level inspector of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology; Xie Changsheng, chairman of the Data Storage and Computing Committee of the China Computer Industry Association (CCIA) and professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Wang Jianfeng, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee; and Zhou Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Changzhou.
More than 200 experts and scholars from universities and research institutions including Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Northeastern University, and Changzhou University, as well as representatives from enterprises and financial institutions, attended the conference.
Wang Jianfeng, speaking on behalf of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and the Municipal People’s Government, extended his appreciation to all those who have long supported Changzhou's development. He noted that at the confluence of a strong real economy and rapid digitalization, Changzhou has made "AI+" a key driver of new quality productive forces—rolling out action plans, implementing real-world application scenarios, and systematically identifying strategic entry points for the industry. Building on its robust manufacturing foundation, diverse industrial settings, and open innovation ecosystem, the city is now focusing on "strengthening computing through storage" and "integrating storage with computing," with a particular emphasis on advanced, emerging, and future-oriented storage technologies, in order to accelerate the formation of a competitive AI storage cluster. He expressed the hope that more high-quality projects and innovation resources would be channeled to Changzhou, so that together they can gain momentum on new frontiers, build new strengths, and secure a brighter future.
Xie Changsheng noted that the rapid development of AI technology has ushered in an ultra-long cycle for the storage industry. At this critical period of industrial transformation, Changzhou has made precise and forward-looking moves, focusing on advanced storage and emerging storage as core tracks, and building a vibrant AI storage ecosystem with the West Taihu Lake Science and Technology Industrial Park as its center. He said the CCIA Data Storage and Computing Committee would deepen practical cooperation with Changzhou in core technology breakthroughs, talent cultivation, standard setting, and ecosystem development, helping Changzhou become a national hub for advanced storage and seize the significant opportunities presented by the AI era.
At the conference, the CCIA Data Storage and Computing Committee, together with Changzhou, released the 2.0 version of the 2026 Data Storage Industry Ecosystem Map. The West Taihu Lake (Changzhou) Advanced Storage Industrial Park and the West Taihu Lake (Changzhou) Emerging Storage Media Innovation Center were officially inaugurated. As the core carrier of Changzhou's AI storage industry, the West Taihu Lake Advanced Storage Industrial Park, in conjunction with the West Taihu Lake (Changzhou) AI Community, is committed to cultivating an innovation ecosystem that deeply integrates AI with advanced storage, in a bid to build a self-reliant hub for AI storage innovation.
Beijing Memblaze Technology Co., Ltd. entered into a strategic partnership with the Changzhou West Taihu Lake Science and Technology Industrial Park, focusing on key enterprise-grade storage technologies and strengthening core links in the industry chain.
The winners of the 2026 West Taihu Lake AI Storage Innovation and Entrepreneurship Invitational were announced, with the project "High-Performance Distributed Storage Infrastructure for the AI Era" receiving the first prize.
Experts and scholars shared their insights on developing the AI storage industry. He Boyong, executive director of Xinmeng Technology Co., Ltd., elaborated on innovative 3D storage solutions for the AI era, analyzing the innovation pathways and practical value of cutting-edge storage technologies. Yang Wendao, vice president of the Data Storage Product Line at Huawei and president of Huawei Distributed Storage, detailed how advanced computing and storage infrastructure can empower the development of high-quality datasets and precisely meet the needs of AI industry development. Senior executives from leading suppliers of storage module and storage system engaged in a roundtable dialogue on technology iteration, market opportunities, ecosystem building, and strategic cooperation.
Fang Jing, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Changzhou, and Huang Jiande, secretary-general of the Changzhou Municipal Government, attended the event.
