Hong Kong Changzhou Youth Association inaugurated, strengthening ties between Jiangsu and Hong Kong youth

The Hong Kong Changzhou Youth Association was officially inaugurated on 6 September, marking a significant step in fostering closer links between young people from Hong Kong and Changzhou, Jiangsu Province.

The founding ceremony, themed "Pooling Wisdom and Building the Future Together", was accompanied by the "AI and FinTech: Empowering New Opportunities for Jiangsu-Hong Kong Youth Development" Forum.

Senior officials and dignitaries attended the event, including Hong Kong's Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung, National Committee member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and founding president of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Association Henry Tang Ying-yen, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong's Community Liaison Department Yu Xuejie, second-level councilor of the Youth Affairs Department Zhang Guolai, CPPCC National Committee member and president of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Association Yao Maolong, and member of the Standing Committee of the Changzhou Municipal Party Committee and president of the Changzhou Overseas Friendship Association Yang Fen.

CSC Group chairman Zhao Lang was appointed as the first president of the Hong Kong Changzhou Youth Association. Seven honorary presidents were also named, including Yao Maolong, and Zhao Guoxiong, founding president of the Hong Kong Changzhou Association. Ten advisors – among them Hung Witman, co-president of the Qianhai Institute for Innovation Research and founder of Zebras platform– were also appointed.

The forum on AI-driven financial technology followed the unveiling ceremony, bringing together experts, entrepreneurs and youth leaders to explore how fintech innovations can create new opportunities for cross-regional collaboration.

Looking ahead, the Hong Kong Changzhou Youth Association pledges to act as a bridge linking young people from both regions. By harnessing the strengths of youth, technology and entrepreneurship, it aims to deepen Jiangsu–Hong Kong integration and contribute to the broader national development agenda.
