On January 7, Chief Engineer Li Bin from Shangshang Cable Group was named a Jiangsu Provincial Chief Technician, becoming the third recipient from Changzhou to receive this honor, following Deng Jianjun of Jiangsu Black Peony (Group) Co., Ltd. and Zhang Yongjie of Changzhou Baoling Heavy Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd.. At the same time, nine individuals from Changzhou—including Liu Xiongjun, Zhu Xuguang, and Li Jingshan—were awarded the title of Jiangsu Provincial Master Technician.

Li Bin has worked on the front lines of wire and cable R&D and manufacturing for more than 30 years. He has led the development of over 300 new products, including special charging cables for new energy vehicles and long-stator winding cables for 600 km/h high-speed maglev trains, both of which have been included in Jiangsu Province's key core technology research programs. He has participated in the formulation and revision of 18 national and industry standards and has been granted 173 national patents, including 40 invention patents. The nuclear power plant cables and port machinery cables he led in developing were recognized as Manufacturing Single Champion Products, while the AP1000 containment cable reached an internationally leading level and won the First Prize of the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Award.

The Chief Technician and Master Technicians recognized this time are all outstanding representatives who have emerged from Changzhou's front lines of production and scientific research. Long committed to key and strategic emerging industries—including high-end equipment manufacturing, next-generation information technology, and new energy and new materials—they not only possess exceptional technical expertise and mastery of cutting-edge or proprietary skills, but have also made significant contributions to addressing major production challenges, driving important technological innovations, promoting the application and commercialization of research outcomes, and mentoring apprentices to cultivate the next generation of skilled professionals.
