——New Year’s Message 2012

　　New Year’s bell announces the end of 2011 and the coming of 2012. On the occasion of New Year's moments, on behalf of CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, Municipal People's Congress, Municipal Government, Municipal Political Consultative Conference, we would like to extend the best wishes and highest respect to all Changzhou citizens, army troops, armed police, public security police, friends at home and abroad that are working and living in Changzhou, and the people concerning and supporting the development of Changzhou.
　　2011 is the first year of “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, also is the uncommon year when Changzhou carried out restructuring and upgrading, overcame the difficulty and made progress, and pursued the leap-forward development. We have full confidence to meet the challenge and crack hard issues with innovative ideas. The construction of “One Core and Eight Parks” is steadily advancing; the “510” action is actively proceeding; the national ecological evaluation is well passed; the 10-year pursuit of “Civilized City” is successfully realized; urban landscape is rapidly changing; urban and rural co-development is going well; and the social environment is stable and peaceful. A favorable situation of “accelerating transformation, higher efficiency, better people's livelihood, harmonious society and comprehensive development” is shown in Changzhou’s economic development, which laid a solid foundation for basically realizing modernization.
　　Looking back at 2011, we have made remarkable achievements, accumulated valuable experience in scientific development and inspired a strong faith in progress. Innovation and development have never stopped; restructuring and upgrading keep going on. 2012 is a significant year to celebrate The 18th Congress of the Communist Party of China, and is also an important period to push forward the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan.” In the face of the uncertainty of global economic situation and the continuation of “dilemma” problems of economic development, we must not linger over the emerging situations and problems, or slow down the development because of strengthened restructuring and upgrading. Where there is a challenge, there is a chance. We must always keep the spirit of excellence in competition and the pride of pioneering in development; firmly adhere to the targets; resolutely implement the policy of advancing with stability and developing fast and soundly; positively carry out the activity called “The Year of Innovation-Driven Acceleration;” consistently maintain steady growth, control prices, adjust structures, improve people’s livelihood, focus on reform and guarantee stability; fully promote the construction of “One Core and Eight Parks” and the program of “510” action; make efforts to propel all-round progress of social undertakings; and continuously strengthen and improve Party construction; so as to maintain sustainable, healthy and rapid economic and social development, and to create another golden period of development.     
　　A new year, a better tomorrow! 2012, we are ready to go! We are confident, adequate and prepared to overcome all difficulties and obstacles on the road ahead. We will make substantive breakthrough based on innovation, restructuring and upgrading, constantly write new chapters of Changzhou’s innovative, restructuring and leaping development, and greet the grand opening of The 18th Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements.
