On July 11, the 4th East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) Industry Forum took place in Changzhou, bringing together experts, scholars, alumni entrepreneurs, and distinguished industry guests from across the country. The event served as a collaborative platform that integrates academic leadership, university-local government cooperation, alumni engagement, and industry-university-research synergy.

During the keynote session, several experts and scholars delivered presentations on topics including the current macroeconomic landscape, pathways to high-quality development in the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, global energy transition, as well as the industry adoption and roll-out of technologies.

The forum also featured a roundtable discussion with six panelists from core sectors of new energy and new materials. They engaged in in-depth deliberations on key technological breakthroughs, commercialization of research outcomes, industry-university-research collaboration, synergy among alumni-led enterprises, and global pathways for companies, exploring shared development strategies for the future. On the same day, two specialized sub‑forums were held, focusing respectively on semiconductors and new materials, and on energy and chemical engineering.

Changzhou is home to a large community of ECUST alumni who have long been engaged in the industrial sector. Rooted in the local economy, they have consistently empowered the real economy and made substantial contributions to the city's high‑quality development. The forum is set to further deepen the two-way synergy between the university and the local government. By leveraging ECUST's disciplinary strengths in new energy, new materials, big health, and safety and security, the event will facilitate the introduction of more cutting-edge technologies and innovative talent to Changzhou, and help build a demonstration zone for industry-university-research integration in the Yangtze River Delta region.
