On September 11, ENGEL celebrated the 10th anniversary of its subsidiary WINTEC at its Changzhou site in the Wujin National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. The event was attended by Qiao Junjie, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary of the CPC Wujin District Committee, alongside Christian Fuchssteiner, Consul of Commercial Affairs at the Austrian Consulate General in Shanghai, and Dr. Stefan Engleder, CEO of ENGEL Group.
Austria-based ENGEL Group is a global leader in the manufacturing of injection molding machines, with its products widely utilized in the automotive, household appliances, medical, and electronics sectors. In 2013, the group established ENGEL Machinery (Changzhou) Co., Ltd. in Wujin, producing WINTEC-branded injection molding machines. Over the past decade, the Changzhou plant has evolved into ENGEL’s largest production base in Asia, becoming a key driver of the group’s global growth strategy and a shining example of Sino-Austrian collaboration. In 2023, the Changzhou facility achieved invoiced sales of 904 million yuan, with 609 million yuan in revenue recorded during the first seven months of 2024.
Wujin has emerged as a magnet for international investment, leveraging its openness to attract global talent, industries, and capital. To date, the district is home to more than 640 foreign enterprises from over 40 countries and regions, driving innovation in key sectors such as electric vehicles and robotics. With its growing momentum in the open economy, Wujin continues to cement its reputation as a dynamic hub for high-quality industrial development.
