In the afternoon of September 15, Changzhou University newly established the Environmental Safety Institute and hired Professor Luo Huaitao, the director and the chief scientist of the U.S. National Environmental Technical Service Center, as the honorary dean.
　　Luo Huaitao is a well-known hydrological and engineering geologist and also is the director of U.S. groundwater resources repair and sewage-contaminated soil remediation and hazardous waste management project. For his excellent contribution to soil remediation, he received the United Nations Peace Education Ambassador Award in 2011.
　　Changzhou University hired professor Luo as the honorary dean and hoped to fully play the advantage of his team in the field of the soil and groundwater pollution remediation, and to further enhance the building and research level of the institute.
