Recently, statistics from the Changzhou Customs show that the city’s total import and export value reached 277.67 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year, up 15.2% year-on-year — the fastest growth in southern Jiangsu and the third highest in the province. Exports of the “new three” products — new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries — totaled 38.49 billion yuan, a surge of 122.8%, becoming a key driver of the city’s foreign trade growth.
Workers at Deepsea Qiongjing (Changzhou) New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. are busy completing an order of PV modules bound for Lebanon. “Production for this order began in April, with a total installed capacity of 24 megawatts — nearly equal to our total order volume for all of last year,” said Du Xiaohong, General Manager of Deepsea Qiongjing. Lebanon is one of the company’s newly developed markets this year, and “we have also successfully expanded into Iraq, Ukraine, and other countries,” Du added.
Today, solar PV modules produced by Deepsea Qiongjing have been exported to more than 30 countries and regions, including Spain, South Africa, and New Zealand. In the first three quarters of this year, the company’s export orders rose by 360% year on year.
Meanwhile, production lines at Jiangsu Welion New Energy Battery Co., Ltd. are also running at full capacity. Specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of solid-state lithium batteries, the company’s products power industrial drones and robots, and portable energy systems for camping and road trips.
“Our batteries can operate reliably in both the high-temperature, high-humidity conditions of Southeast Asia and the low-temperature environment in parts of Europe. With their compact size and light weight, they align with the trend toward miniaturization and lightweight design in industrial equipment, helping reduce energy consumption,” said Guo Hao, Foreign Trade Manager at Welion. Currently, the company’s products are exported to nearly 200 countries and regions, including Malaysia, the Netherlands, and Norway.
In the competitive global market, delivery speed directly affects customer willingness to cooperate. After learning about the corporate needs, Changzhou Customs has optimized its inspection procedures. While adhering to hazardous goods packaging inspection standards to ensure transport safety, it helped enterprises reduce logistics costs and shorten delivery times. Today, Welion’s lithium battery exports can be declared, inspected, and cleared all on the same day.
Changzhou Customs is also focusing on the development of the new energy industry by strengthening guidance and support in addressing foreign technical trade measures. It has organized exchange activities connecting officials from Belt and Road countries receiving training in China with local enterprises. In coordination with multiple departments, the customs authority has also tailored container loading, unloading, and supervision procedures for exporters, ensuring the efficient and smooth export of the “new three” products.
