The Jintan Sub-Center of the National Technology Transfer Demonstration Institution, established under the Jiangsu Zhongke Institute of Applied Research on Intelligent Science and Technology, was recently inaugurated, marking the full coverage of Changzhou’s Technology Manager Service Network across all provincial-level and above high-tech development zones. Spearheaded by Changzhou Science and Education Town, this achievement represents a significant expansion of the city’s technology intermediary service system.
The Technology Manager System plays a vital role in bridging scientific research with industrial application. Under the framework of the Changzhou Industry-Education-Science Alliance, the city has established 16 technology manager offices, supported by a professional team comprising 109 full-time and 188 part-time specialists.
This year, new sub-centers have been launched in Wujin, Zhonglou, Liyang, and Jintan, reinforcing the critical pathway from laboratory research to market application. These developments provide robust support for fostering new quality productive forces and enhancing the regional innovation ecosystem.
Each sub-center specializes in distinct industrial sectors. The West Taihu Lake branch in Wujin district, leveraging resources from Changzhou University, focuses on high-end healthcare and graphene materials, offering comprehensive services from technology assessment to commercialization. The Zhonglou branch collaborates with Jiangsu University and the Industry-Education-Science Alliance to advance new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and digital economy initiatives. The Liyang branch facilitates synergy between Changzhou University and the Jiangsu Liyang High-Tech Zone, concentrating on new energy research and development. Meanwhile, the Jintan sub-center utilizes the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ technology transfer expertise to drive talent training, sci-tech services, and joint innovation efforts.
With the Technology Manager Service Network now spanning the entire city, Changzhou is accelerating the formation of an innovation ecosystem anchored by Science and Education Town and supported by coordinated regional collaboration. Notable results this year include the identification of 219 enterprise demands, with a resolution rate of 76.7%, alongside 55.85 million yuan in facilitated technology partnerships. Additionally, 14 licensing agreements under the pioneering “Use First, Pay Later” model, covering 22 patents, have been signed, further solidifying Changzhou’s leadership in technology transfer and innovation.
