On October 9, it was learned from the Municipal Quality Supervision Bureau that the Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau has officially approved to establish the Jiangsu Technical Committee of Robot and Robotic Equipment Standardization in Changzhou.

The committee will be dedicated to the standard research in the field of robot and robotic equipment in Jiangsu province. It will take the lead in establishing a relatively complete robot standard system in China, providing technical support for the robot industry and ensuring the healthy development of the province's robot industry.

The robot industry is one of the emerging sectors in Jiangsu’s mechanical equipment manufacturing industry. In recent years, Changzhou has vigorously promoted industrial agglomeration, intelligence, high-end and characteristic development. The intelligent manufacturing industry has become an industrial business card of Changzhou. At the end of 2016, the output value of intelligent CNC and robot industry chain exceeded 27.5 billion yuan. The sales of industrial robots, medical robots, collaborative robots and other robots accounted for 1/4 of the national total and 3/4 of the provincial total.
