On June 16, Qi Jiabin, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, met with Dr. Lee Shau Kee, chairman of Henderson Land Development Company Limited and Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas).

Henderson Land is a leading property developer in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland that creates high quality new homes and commercial developments which enhance, as well as integrate with, their surrounding natural and built environments. Its market value is about HK$ 400 billion. Towngas, an associated company of Henderson Land, has already invested in four projects in Changzhou. Recently, Towngas signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Wujin District to establish Huayan Environmental Investment (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 800 million yuan, which is so far the largest foreign-invested company registered in Changzhou this year.

Qi Jiabin warmly welcomed Dr. Lee and his delegation, and briefed them on the economic and social development of Changzhou in recent years. Qi said that this year Changzhou will focus on attracting projects, promoting innovation and improving environment while pursuing the goal of becoming a star city of industrial intelligence, science and education innovation, cultural and tourism development, and livelihood improvement. He hopes that Henderson Land will deepen its cooperation with Changzhou and help promote the city’s economic and social development.

Dr. Lee said he has seen Changzhou making remarkable achievements in economic and social development these years. Henderson Land and Towngas will use their advantages to carry out further cooperation with Changzhou and make positive contributions to the city’s development.
