It was lately informed that Changzhou is planning to build three general aviation (GA) airports, namely, Changzhou Xinbei Airport, Liyang Tianmuhu Airport and Wujin Qianhuang Airport.

On January 18th this year, the Civil Aviation Ordinance of Jiangsu Province was passed at the Twenty-eighth Session of the Twelfth Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, and has come into effect on July 1st. The implementation of the Ordinance will provide Changzhou with professional guidance for airport planning and construction.

Among the three GA airports, Liyang Tianmuhu Airport has started construction, which is expected to be completed in the first half of next year. Xinbei Airport is in the process of site selection approval. The project of Wujin Qianhuang Airport has been submitted for examination and approval.
