Between April 10 and 11, Mr. Wen Ende, president of Jian’an Health Care Center in Seattle, the U.S., visited Changzhou accompanied Mr. Zhou Weidong, deputy secretary general of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (JSPAFFC). During his stay in Changzhou, Wen visited Futian Rehabilitation Hospital located by the Tianmu Lake in Liyang and had a meeting with the hospital’s director Mr. Shi Lejin. Wen expressed appreciation for the hospital’s new model of‘medical support combined with rehabilitation and elderly care,’and made a number of constructive suggestions.

Invited by JSPAFFC, Wen’s visit this time is to hold the Lecture of Elderly Care and Management in the United States. It is reported that as home-style care for the elderly is increasingly popular in the United States, the shortage of nurses became an issue in the country.‘Population aging is a global issue that is affecting virtually every country around the world, and the key is how to deal with it,’ said Wen.

Mr. Du Wenping, deputy director of Changzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and vice president of Changzhou Municipal Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with Wen. Both sides expressed the hope of  promoting the development of bilateral cooperation in aged care through this exchange.
