Recently, Parviz Davlatzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to China, visited Changzhou and witnessed the unveiling ceremony of the Tajikistan Research Center of Changzhou Vocational Institute of Light Industry. Vice Mayor Li Lin met with Davlatzoda and his delegation.

China and Tajikistan are friendly neighbors, and the economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries has now entered its best period. Changzhou is one of the key cities in the central area of Yangtze River Delta, with a strong industrial base and high-level opening-up. In recent years, the economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural exchanges between Changzhou and Tajikistani cities have become increasingly frequent.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative. The Belt and Road project is open to all friends and is committed to “building a garden shared by all countries,” which has become an important and practical platform for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. We will take this as a new starting point, combine Changzhou's industrial characteristics and development status, uphold dialogue and consultation, joint contribution, shared benefits, win-win cooperation, exchange and mutual learning, and focus on economic and trade cooperation, international park construction and friendship city establishment, with educational cooperation and exchange as the bridge, in order to produce achievements together with the Belt and Road countries and continuously advance the initiative to high-quality development.

The development of Changzhou requires the support of talents and requires more and deeper international exchanges and cooperation. As one of the local colleges, in recent years, Changzhou Vocational Institute of Light Industry has vigorously developed the programs for international students, achieving balanced growth in both the number of international students and the connotation of education. The establishment of the Tajikistan Research Center will definitely improve the cultivation and internationalization of the Tajikistani  students in Changzhou. In the near future, it will become an important base for serving the enterprises “going out” to Tajikistan and promoting the training and exchange of Chinese and Tajikistani talents, as well as an important academic platform to enhance the cooperation between the two countries.
